Don’t go to this hotel if you want to be within walking distance of Mykonos Town and all its famous nightlife.  Yes, it’s unusual to find such a bold, no-nonsense statement in a hotel review, but this is the single most important thing one needs to know about the Royal and Imperial Myconian resort & thalasso spa center.  However, if you are happy to plan your trips to the Mykonos town the hotel provided shuttle bus service and don’t mind the twenty minute or so journey, then you can enjoy a hotel that just may occupy one of the best locations in Mykonos Island.

The Royal Myconian collection (consist of 2 luxury hotels the Royal Myconian resort & thalasso spa center and the Imperial Myconian resort & thalasso spa center) overlooks Elia Beach, one which is slightly less well-known but equally as attractive as the more popular Mykonos beaches, and is a sprawling complex with some fabulous views, especially from the higher placed rooms.  The hotels have seven different grades of rooms & suites for you to choose from, starting at the Deluxe and Deluxe with outdoor Jacuzzi to the Junior, Executive and Presidential suites.  Private pools are available with some of the Executive Suites too.

Classed as a 5 star hotel and a member of the Leading Hotel’s of the World, the Royal Myconian collection hotels are certainly very impressive.  It’s very easy to loose yourself in the huge lobby (in fact, it would be easy to loose a football team in it), which has a rather nautical theme thanks to charts, maps, wheels and such like.  But to stay in here would be a shame, as there are three swimming pools and a pleasant pool area, complete with swim-up bar, outside to enjoy.

If you are visiting Mykonos Island with a young family, the Imperial and Royal Myconian resort & thalasso spa center has a variety of services that may be of interest.  As well as the three swimming pools mentioned above, there is a separate one especially for children, plus a ‘kids club’ where specially trained staff members will ensure your children are looked after during the day while you partake in some of the excellent spa treatments available in the Thalasso Spa Centre.

Thanks to the size of the Imperial and Royal Myconian resort & thalasso spa center, there is also plenty of space for businesses to hold conferences there, and the hotel has a fully functional conference center on site.  Although private guests will not care about this, it does mean that the hotel is perfect for holding a wedding; aside from the dream location of course, and a tailor made service is available for those wishing to tie the knot.

Overall, the Imperial and Royal Myconian resort & thalasso spa center makes for a luxurious and relaxing stay – the distance from Mykonos Town has its advantages as well as its disadvantages – and it is a superb choice for those guests with children, however those with walking difficulties may find the steep hill that must be scaled on return from the beach a bit of a drag.  But, just to illustrate the hotel’s devotion to providing a service that tries to think of everything, there is a bus service that caters for anyone who doesn’t want to face that too.
